The reporting, bank reconciliation and tax-return layer that Odoo Community does not include.
Odoo Community includes a complete double-entry ledger, a full tax engine, analytic accounting and invoicing, then stops where an accountant would start work. It has no financial report engine, no bank reconciliation screen, no bank statement import, no assets, budgets or dunning, and no tax return workflow. Those sit in Odoo Enterprise.
Macrohat Accounting is being designed to supply that layer as Community addons, with no dependency on an Enterprise module or on any odoo.com service. The scope includes interactive financial reports, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, budgets, dunning, a UK VAT return with Making Tax Digital submission, and a migration path for accountants moving across from Sage 50.
- Reports that drill down
- Trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow with period and prior-year comparison, where every figure opens the journal items behind it and exports to XLSX and PDF.
- Bank reconciliation at the keyboard
- A reconciliation screen designed for keyboard-first matching, with statement import from CAMT, OFX, QIF and mapped CSV or XLSX files.
- The VAT return, end to end
- The nine-box UK VAT return computed from the ledger and reconcilable to a detail report, with Making Tax Digital submission and a retained submission log in scope.
- Familiar to Sage 50 users
- Batch entry grids, a transaction number an accountant can quote, and a migration tool whose target is a trial balance that agrees with Sage to the penny.
- No odoo.com dependency
- Nothing in the design calls an odoo.com service. Where an external feed is genuinely needed, such as a bank feed, the customer brings their own provider and credential.
