Odoo Community has no home screen. After login the web client simply opens the first app the user can reach. Enterprise gives its users a home menu: a grid of every app, under the company's logo.
This module reproduces that home menu on Community, at a bare /odoo address with no action suffix and no breadcrumb. Users land on it at login, the top-left apps button returns to it, and typing searches apps and their menus through Odoo's own command palette.
The grid is built from the menu service each time it is shown, so it respects access rights and picks up newly installed apps with no configuration. It uses Community components only and depends on nothing beyond Odoo's web client.

No, and it should not be installed there. Enterprise ships its own home menu, which this module reproduces. Uninstall it when a database moves to Enterprise; you lose nothing.
No. It depends on the web client only. If Website is installed, its apps button for internal users also goes to the grid; without Website nothing extra is needed.
