Odoo has no property-management system in either edition. This suite adds one: properties, room types and rooms, rate plans and restrictions, reservations on Odoo sale orders, a front-desk tape chart, end-of-day posting, and a direct-booking website, all inside the database the rest of the business already runs on.

Overbooking is prevented in PostgreSQL rather than in application code. Two layers are enforced by the database itself: one physical room cannot hold two stays on the same night, and room-type capacity cannot be sold below zero, including the hold taken while a website guest is at checkout. When two people race for the last room, the database decides before any payment is taken. Overselling is still possible, but only as a deliberate, permission-gated and audited act.

The website, the front desk and any later integration go through one availability service, so the desk and the booking engine quote the same price for the same night. Prices are snapshotted at confirmation, so a later rate change never rewrites a guest's bill.
